Rooki: Skincare Review

To all my skin care junkies or if you’re looking for a new brand to try- this is for you.

What is Rooki?

Glad that you’ve asked. Rooki is a new skin care brand that was started in Singapore, but made in Japan.

What’s so great about their products?

I will fill you in with all the you-need-to knows here. I will start by saying that all of their products are cruelty free and packed with superfood ingredients. As of now, they only have three products: Green Pump Paste Masque, Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops, and Superfood Saviour Creme.

What superfoods ingredients do they use?

To name a few, they use: carrots, chia seeds, honey, kale, lingonberry, matcha, orange, soybeans, royal jelly, and tomatoes.

What active ingredients are in their products?

Glycerin, Lactic Acid, Lauric Acid, Hyalurnoic Acid, Vitamin C, Plant-Based Squalane, Vitamin E, and so much more.

Green Pulp Paste Masque

Thoughts: This masque is an interesting one – in a good way. At first, the product will come out as a gel-like consistency. After massaging it on my face, it started to turn into a white paste and then I started to feel a warming sensation. I was like what the heck- but it again in a good way haha! It felt like some product that I used at a spa before.

Ok guys after one use, I already felt a difference in my skin. My skin felt brighter, smoother, and extra hydrated. I don’t use this everyday. I use this 3-4 times a week or those times when I feel like my skin is thirsty lol.

Superfoods in this masque contain:

  • Carrots: protects skin from free radical damage
  • Tomatoes: help reduce harmful effects of UV exposure
  • Matcha: Help soothe the appearance of redness and blemishes
  • Kale: Rich in antioxidants, Vitamins A, K, and C
  • Soybeans: reduces signs of aging

Honey Matcha Cleansing Drops

For anyone who knows me, ya’ll know how much I love me my matcha so I was super excited to try this cleanser out. This cleanser is packed with honey, chia seeds, and Uji matcha. It does contain Lactic Acid to help that glow we all strive for. Hands down another gentle cleanser that I will easily call my favorite. It’s gentle and it doesn’t strip my skin like other cleansers. I have combination skin and it works wonderfully! Just like the masque, my face feels brighter after one use. This cleanser smells bomb too.

Superfoods in this masque contain:

  • Honey: has antibacterial and anti-flammatory properties.
  • Matcha: helps sooth appearance of redness and reduce blemishes.
  • Chia Seeds:
  • Contains Alpha Linolenic Acid (ALA)
  • Cape Jasmine Fruit: helps brightening and improving uneven skin tones

Superfood Saviour Creme

Thoughts: Lastly, the ‘saviour’- hence the name. I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers and this is also on my top faves. It’s lightweight, smells good, and hydrates the heck out of my skin. A little goes a long way with this product. I sometimes use this during the day before my make up, but my favorite time to apply this is when I do my night time routine. My face seriously feels and looks super hydrated when I wake up in the morning.

Superfoods in this masque contain:

  • Kale: Rich in antioxidants, vitamins A, C, and K
  • Lingonberries: known for cell regenerating properties
  • Chia Seeds: has source of Alpa Linolenic (ALA)

Price: $57.00 / 1.7 oz

Benefits: Hydrating, protecting, nourishing, cell regenerating, buildable

Final Thoughts:

So there you have it- Rooki’s first three products and I can honestly say that I enjoy each and every one of them. The only thing that I wish they could have done differently was maybe have two sizes of each product, for example the Superfood Saviour Creme – I’d love a bigger version. Other than that, I have all positive things to say about this brand and I can’t wait to see what other amazing products they will come up with.
